happy Thursday! I hope this week has been short & sweet for all of you, especially if you had Monday off (and if not, it’s almost over!) Today I’m sharing three ways I style beanies… of course, this post was a lot more relevant in Alabama last week when it was snowing because now we are having summer temperatures. Trust me, it’s definitely weird walking to class in your Nike shorts when it’s only January!
Hopefully this post will be helpful to you, even if you’re like me and you’re having summer weather. Beanies are such a fun statement piece but I rarely see them out and about or in other fashion bloggers’ looks, probably because they seem so casual and are more synonymous with covering bedhead than creating a complete look. With this post, I want to change your mind. Of course, they are helpful because you don’t have to style your hair… but that can be our little secret.
the casual: gray/neutral beanie + white jeans + denim jacket
You may recognize this denim jacket from my last post and since wearing it then, I’ve thought of so many more outfits I could do with it! The denim jacket with the white jeans is a fun, casual look but adding the beanie completes the outfit and makes it seem more purposeful, especially because there’s gray throughout. I picked up this beanie for only $3 in the Target dollar section last year, but the quality is so nice and it would be great on a colder day because of how thick it is. I think if you’re looking to buy a beanie, gray is a great color to start off with because it provides the neutral aspect that black does while still being lighter and more wearable. Because this outfit is more casual, I think it would work so well on a casual day where you still want to look cute… maybe an outdoor soccer game, or even just a get together with family.
the cool: light blue beanie + jeans + white shirt + black vest
This beanie is one of the cutest things ever… right?! My grandfather’s sweet wife, Rose, made a couple of beanies for my family and I’m obsessed with them. The light blue color of this beanie really compliments the blue of the jeans, and of course my white shirt and black vest are so basic that you could add anything to make the outfit more unique! This outfit is so customizable, and it would work for anything that you could wear jeans for – shopping, eating out. To make it even more casual and wearable, you could switch out the jeans for a pair of comfy leggings.
the cute: red beanie + white jeans + black & white striped shirt + denim chambray
This is the last outfit and I think it’s the cutest of all of them! This red beanie is another one that Rose knitted, but I think it’s my favorite color of all three. The maroon is deep enough to really make a statement, but it’s not so bright that it completely distracts from the rest of the outfit. You all know how much I love black and white stripes, so it’s no surprise that I had to wear them at least once in this threepeat! This outfit would be perfect for shopping and going out to eat with friends, especially on a chillier day.
I hope you all enjoyed this threepeat. Hopefully by posting this, Alabama weather will get a wakeup call and realize that we’re in the middle of January, not June!
