I have a few favorites that I think I’ll always love, no matter how old I am or even what season is: dainty gold jewelry, comfy ankle boots, and black & white stripes. I used to joke that my mom’s closet was filled to the brim with only stripes, but now that’s how my closet is! The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree, right?!
One of my personal rules when I’m shopping is to think of at least three, unique outfits I can make with the piece! That way I know I’m buying something that I will really love & that I will really use. Even if a shirt is only $10, if you can’t think of a way to wear it that makes you happy, that’s a waste of $10 – it’d be better to treat yourself with a smoothie or a donut!
So, today I’m going to share the three ways I styled this black & white striped shirt. This shirt is a Junior’s size & I picked up a Medium – if you’re looking for an inexpensive, comfy shirt, I would definitely check this one out. It’s only $10 right now, is super soft & is insanely flattering.
the colorful & comfy: black & white striped shirt + colorful cardigan + high-waisted jeans
I love neutral outfits and I love how simple it is to just add a few dainty gold necklaces to a black & white striped shirt, but sometimes I just want a pop. That’s where this cardigan comes in. I picked it up on sale at Target a few years ago and even though it’s bright yellow, I’ve already worn it so many times! I think yellow is such a happy color so of course I wanted to include it with this threepeat. Because the cardigan is bigger (and so comfy), I tucked my shirt into high-waisted jeans to keep it from looking too baggy.
the sweet & sassy: black & white striped shirt + black skirt + denim chambray
I am 100% a jeans girl… Give me jeans over a dress or a skirt any day! But sometimes I can’t wear jeans, so these are the times I reach for my go-to combination: a black skirt (I love this lace one because it adds texture), a simple shirt, and a denim chambray. This combination could look so casual if you paired a solid-colored shirt or even a graphic shirt with flat sandals, or it could go dressier if you wear ankle boots and a necklace like I did here!
the cool & chic
This final outfit could not be easier & it’s one of my go-to looks! I tied the shirt up in a knot because it was at that awkward length where it’s not too long but it’s not too short. Of course, i added my favorite jacket, because what kind of threepeat would this be if my utility jacket wasn’t included?
