This post is technically a month late… but better late than never, right?! 2018 is already so busy, but thankfully in all good ways. Last year, I decided to write a post all about my New Year’s statement – live with purpose. I love the idea of forgoing traditional resolutions for a general phrase to keep in the back of my mind. I try to let this phrase influence my actions throughout the year. This year, my “statement” is live in the present.
I love this statement for so many reasons. Instead of constantly replaying past situations or worrying about the future. For me, living in the present means taking a step back and being grateful for things as they are now. I’m in the second semester of my sophomore year of college, which means I’m already almost halfway done! I want to really enjoy this time so when I look back at it, I can truly appreciate it.
Of course, I still have goals for the new year. Instead of drinking soda whenever, I only want to have soda on Sundays. I’m planning (hoping) to clean my room much more often this year. As always, I’d love to incorporate working out into my routine.
I truly think my most important goal is living by this phrase and trying to live in the present! Do you have a New Year’s “statement” or phrase you try to keep in mind? I’d love to know!
xoxo, Cecilia
