4 Ways to Add Prayer to Your Day

Today on the blog I’m switching gears and getting a little more personal. Of course, I love to talk about fashion and my favorite places to buy clothes (hello Target!). I really think part of looking at the sunny side of life is finding your personal style and truly owning it! But for me, a big part of that confidence comes from knowing my value no matter what I’m wearing. So, with that in mind, today I’m sharing 4 ways to add prayer to your day! These are some of my favorite tips and tricks for when life gets stressful and busy.

1. Switch out your usual playlist.

Now, I know not everyone likes praise and worship music… which is totally fine! But for me, switching out my usual music (aka rap…) for the music I would listen to at a retreat is a great way to add prayer to my day. From the lyrics to the different beat, I find that it sets me in a different mindset. I like to listen to a few songs as I’m getting ready in the morning, or at night when I’m writing in my prayer journal.

2. Offer up your workout (or homework, or chores) as a prayer.

I think this is an awesome way to both put me in the right mindset and remind me to pray. Before you work out, offer it up to God. For me, knowing that my workout is a prayer of sorts makes me want to exercise harder and also gives me that little push that I personally need to go longer. I also like to offer up tests or quizzes to God so before I even start I’m praying for that wisdom… instead of after, when I’d be praying that the professor doesn’t notice my mistakes!

3. Keep a prayer journal.

I’ve mentioned writing in a prayer journal in posts before, but it’s truly one of my favorite ways to pray now! It’s such a great way to see the beauty in God’s timing when you’re able to actually look back at your prayers and see how they were answered. If you’re ever feeling stuck when writing a prayer journal, one of my favorite things to do is write out a favorite verse or song lyric (of course, I make it as pretty as possible!). While I’m writing the verse out, I’m able to reflect on why it stood out to me… Plus, you have the added bonus of having something pretty to look at when you flip through it!

4. Read a spiritual book.

Obviously, the Bible is an option for this… But I also love reading books that are written for people in my situation (for college women). My favorite book has been How to Find Your Soulmate Without Losing Your Soul, and I recommend that book to everyone! I love spiritual books like this because you can also easily find time to read a few pages a day.

What are your favorite ways to add prayer to your day? I’d love to hear them in the comments!
