I am all about fall, and I’m all about a good bucket list! Every time a new season comes, I love to take a moment and think about my goals and plans. Of course, some of these are purely practical – like get through midterms! But today I’m sharing my fall bucket list, full of all of the fun – and practical – things I want to do.
1. Rewatch The Vampire Diaries and start The Haunting of Hill House.
I don’t know what it is about this weather, but I am always in the mood for The Vampire Diaries by the time October comes around! In my junior year of high school, I watched the first four seasons around this time. Then, I got major burnout because I had watched it so quickly and completely stopped. Senior year of high school? Exact same thing. Four seasons and I’m done! So now, in my junior year of college, I’m rewatching it and maybe this time I’ll actually finish it. Third time’s the charm?
I’ve also recently been watching The Haunting of Hill House. I turn off all the lights, light a candle, and snuggle up to watch an episode each night! One thing – I love horror movies. Normally I laugh at them! This time around? I’m actually genuinely spooked. But I’ve been loving it and I definitely recommend.
2. Bake apple muffins.
So, I’m not big into pumpkin. I know, I know, it’s like a crime! I do love apple, and I actually love to bake when I go home to Birmingham and have plenty of time, so I think I’ll have to plan a few recipes to try out. Maybe these?
3. Have a picnic.
I know that this may seem odd on a fall bucket list, but down here in Alabama, fall time just means you can comfortably sit outside without sweating. In the mornings it’s in the 50s but by the time lunch comes around, it’s in the 60s and amazing. I love to eat outside when I can, but I want to take it a step further and have a real picnic! Later on the blog I want to share different ways to spend a Saturday now that football is slowing down, and picnicking is definitely one of them! For real, a chilly afternoon plus apple muffins plus friends? That’s the dream as far as I’m concerned.
4. Keep a candle burning.
Maybe this isn’t really a bucket list item, but I plan on having a candle burning at all times now that it’s chillier! I’m not big on super sweet scents – the one I’m obsessed with right now is this one from Target. It’s bergamot blossom and it’s subtle but sweet and spicy.
5. Grab a fall drink from a coffee shop and walk around.
I’m not into pumpkin so no pumpkin spice lattes for me, but I do love delicious hot drinks. I think I want to grab apple cider and walk around with a friend while we catch up! This is definitely a bucket list item, because with the bustle of college life, if I’m grabbing coffee, I’m doing work. I really want to take an hour or two to just slow down and appreciate each other’s company.
So, what’s on your fall bucket list?! I’d love to know what you’re looking forward to this season!
xoxo, Cecilia
