I am so excited for today’s post because I’m sharing a recap of my spring break trip to Destin! I went with a few of my best friends from high school, and we had the best time. We stayed at my friends’ family house in Niceville which is about 20 minutes away from Destin and the CUTEST town. Now, onto the recap!
Saturday
We drove up from Auburn early Saturday morning, so we were in Destin by noon! First stop: the beach. The weather was amazing – I’m talking sunny and 75. After a few hours at the beach, one of my friends and I stopped at the Catholic church, Christ the Redeemer Church. This was such a beautiful church and spending some time there was amazing. That night, we ate at Lulu’s – always a classic!
Sunday
After Sunday morning Church, we stopped at L.J. Schooner’s Marina. We ate at the oyster bar, and predictably, I got spaghetti. It was the prettiest view and the BEST photo opp. Cue a mini photo shoot!
After an outfit change, we drove over the bridge to Destin to shop – of course! We stopped at Destin Commons, an amazing outdoor mall that’s similar to the Summit. Earthbound Trading Co was having a great sale, and I picked up a cutie
Monday
Monday’s forecast was rainy, so we did my favorite thing to do – coffee! We found a coffee shop a few miles from the house and spent a few hours getting work done. And
You may or may not have heard of this little show called The Bachelor… I have never seen an episode, but the finale was last Monday, and we had to catch it! We called a sports bar and asked if they would play it – and they did. My friends had to explain the ins and outs of the Bachelor world, but it was fun to finally understand this fence everyone on Twitter was talking about.
Tuesday
Tuesday was our last day and we spent HOURS at the beach. It was the dream weather – perfectly sunny with a breeze. Around 4, we packed up from the beach and stopped at Destin Commons… again. A boutique was having an amazing sale, so I picked up some jewelry and a hair scarf. If you ever go to Destin Commons, be sure to check out
After shopping, we went to the coolest restaurant – Graffiti & the Funky Blues Shack. It was an early dinner, so there were mainly families there. I want to go back to watch an artist perform. That night, we stopped at L.J. Schooner’s again and caught the last 30 minutes of the Bachelor. We were the only ones there – always a fun time!
Wednesday
Wednesday was our travel day, so of course, we had to grab coffee again. Where? Tango 3 Coffee Company, duh. We got breakfast and coffees then made our way to Auburn.
Do you not want to go to Destin/Niceville immediately now?! This was the absolute sweetest spring break – the perfect combination of relaxing and fun. I’m so grateful for my friends and so aware of how absolutely LUCKY I am that the girls I turned to in high school are still the girls I can turn to today.
Thank you for reading my spring break recap! Sometimes I stop for a minute and realize how awesome having a blog is – I have a (semi) permanent record of some of the best days of my life. Thank YOU for being a part of it.
xoxo, Cecilia
