Long time, no blog… but I’m back (and better than ever) with a quick guide to a day in Columbus, Georgia! Columbus is a quick drive from Auburn, so a few weeks ago, my friends & I spent an afternoon there. Columbus is super close to Auburn and Atlanta, so if you’re near one, you should make the drive!
Eat at: Nonic Beer Bar & Kitchen
I’m gonna be honest… I have thought multiple times about driving up to Columbus JUST for this yakisoba. Nonic has a great variety of options—for vegetarians and meat-eaters. Nonic also keeps 30 beers on tap, so one of my friends and I shared a flight to try a few different flavors. I definitely recommend you head to Nonic if you go to Columbus!
Caffeinate at: Iron Bank Coffee Co.
For me, a day isn’t complete without coffee. I absolutely love trying different coffee shops, and Iron Bank Coffee Co. was a winner in my book! The shop is roomy with plenty of tables and high ceilings, along with the unique details from a private room inside a vault to different chandeliers. The coffee shop was full of other college students and was a great place to get some photo editing and studying done.
Take photos at: the murals
It wouldn’t be a Sunny Side Cecilia guide if I didn’t share murals, right?! Every time I’m going to visit a new city, I immediately Google all of the murals in the city. Here are my favorite photo spots in Columbus PLUS their addresses to make your life easier and your Instagram feed amazing.
1. HENSE Mural, Yoyo Ferro – 1211 Broadway
2. Storefront Mural, Yoyo Ferro
Both of these photos are at a mural right outside a storefront from the same artist as the first mural! I love the fun graphics – they’re definitely some of my favorite murals I’ve seen.
3. Light Brick Wall
If you love earth tones and natural backgrounds in your photos, this light brick wall will be perfect for your photos! If you walk down the main street, you’ll see a huge opening with this wall.
I hope y’all liked this little guide to Columbus, Georgia! I love sharing guides on the blog to serve as inspiration for you in your travels and as reflections of my own experiences. Thanks for reading and coming along with me!
