It’s midnight on a Wednesday, I’m back from the gym (and Sonic…) and tonight we’re switching it up: I’m talking about math. Okay, not really. BUT we’re talking about my winter outfit formula — the combination I rely on to make getting dressed early in the mornings that much easier. I’ve talked about this before, but I’m a big believer in a few cliches: dress for the job you want, not the job you have AND dress for success. For me, that means not wearing my workout clothes, because I feel SO much more productive in outfits like this! That’s where this formula comes in. Simple, reliable, and cute every single time.
My winter outfit formula: high-waisted jeans + leather belt + t-shirt + jacket
Literally the EASIEST thing ever, but no matter what combination you choose, it’ll look put together. Leather jacket, black tee & ripped jeans? YES. Colorful tee, tan jacket & brown leather details? SO CUTE.
Shop the look: similar striped Madewell tee (only $13!) / similar Old Navy jacket ($55) / belt ($24)
So what’s the point of “dressing up” in college? In my head, it’s just as easy as wearing leggings and a comfy t-shirt, but when I choose to make a simple switch like trading my leggings for jeans, I take on the day feeling so confident. As a senior in college, you never know who you’ll meet in classes who might be giving presentations for potential jobs or which professors might be considering you for helping out for an internship. And for a completely unprofessional reason… you never know when you’ll find a good photo opp! That’s probably the most #BloggersOnly reason to wear cute clothes to class, but I’m sticking with it.
