It’s 2020, and it’s time to be brave. With your emotions, sure. Your dreams? Definitely. But really, it’s time to brave… with your fashion. It’s time to break up with your jeans. Don’t worry, because today I’m sharing 3 ideas for styling fun pants… that aren’t jeans. Styling dress pants for casual days and classes is one of my favorite things ever – I feel way more put together and cute, plus a lot of cute pants are just comfy fabric, so you’re basically wearing PJs.
Look #1: Comfy Vibes
If your idea of comfort is slouchy sweats, you should check out linen joggers. They have the same fit as cozy sweatpants, but the fabric dresses up the relaxed style. I paired these brown joggers with a light pink sweatshirt to continue the chill idea. By adding a pair of ankle booties, I dressed up the look enough that I would feel confident wearing this to class without looking like I ‘d just rolled out of bed.
These pants are a bit out of my comfort zone — I grabbed them on major sale at Express, and until now, I wasn’t really sure how to style them. I’m SO glad I grabbed them though, because now that I’ve tried this look, I can’t wait to wear them to class!
Look #2: Keepin’ It Simple
When in doubt, keep it simple. In life and in fashion, this is a tried & true rule. If you’re unsure of stepping out of your comfort zone, start with a few solid colors and basics. You can add accessories to your heart’s desire, or you can let the pieces stand on their own as I did here.
A simple fit like this will be perfect whether you’re wearing it to work or you just want to feel a lil bit more dressy in your day-to-day life. I wear these gray pants all the time because they’re so cozy & obviously, they match everything!
Look #3: Make a Statement
If you’re looking to switch up your go-to jeans and get out of your comfort zone, you may as well jump, right?! This amazing pair of windowpane pants were the first pair of “statement” pants I’ve ever bought + the first thing I bought when my collab with Express started last May! These make a statement BUT because they’re still neutral, they’re a great starting place. I usually style statement pants with simple sweaters so the emphasis is on the pants. Recently, though, I’ve also been itching to pair these with a navy & white striped tank. Would that be too much, or just enough?!
I hope that this post inspired you to step out of your comfort zone a little bit & try out new pants! Every time I try to switch it up with my style, I feel a little bit awkward at first… but, the more I’ve grown into my personal style, the more confident I’ve become.
