If you’ve browsed my blog before, you know how much I LOVE outfit “formulas“. These are simple combinations that take all of the effort out of getting dressed in the morning while still looking chic! The temperatures are finally cooling off, so I’m sharing 3 fall outfit ideas you need to try this season… even if you’ll only be wearing them at home.
Wear a cropped sweater with your favorite skirt
Don’t tuck away your favorite skirts just because it’s getting cooler! When we’re in between seasons, switching out your go-to tank with a cropped sweater will be the perfect option. I still haven’t hopped on the midi skirt trend, but this skirt is pretty close and one of my favorites. If I’m wearing one loose piece (like this skirt), I like to pair it with a structured piece for balance. A thin, cropped sweater is the perfect option… and bonus, you won’t be sweating when you walk to your car after work. I may or may not be speaking from experience.
Pair a blazer with jeans and a white tee
My ideal outfit always involves a blazer and my go-to is adding one on top of a white tank (only $15) and ripped jeans! Whenever I wear one, I feel like I’m walking down the streets of New York City on my way to an important meeting. You can’t go wrong with a classic gray or black blazer, but when I dug in my mom’s closet and saw this, I knew I had to “borrow” it! Her mom made this blazer for her in the 80s, and I love it. It’s so fun to think of my mom and I wearing the same piece, years apart!
Choose your favorite graphic tee and add fall accessories
This outfit features a few quintessential fall items: ankle boots and a floppy felt hat. I feel a little Christian Girl Autumn in it and yes, a little basic, but I truly believe there are worse things to be than basic. This is such an easy outfit, but it works so well together thanks to the touches of leather throughout. Plus, I love this hat… even though I’ve only worn it in public like twice. As cute as it is, I feel like I can’t see my surroundings, haha.
Let me know which of these fall outfit ideas is your favorite! I’m so excited that it’s finally cooling down so I can take them all for a spin and do all the fall things. My fall bucket list looks a little different this year, but I’m learning to appreciate the little things! My favorite coffee shop opened up right next to my office (which is low-key dangerous), and I’ve already made it a weekly habit to grab a latte on Friday mornings. Of course, I may also stop in during my lunch break to do freelance work every once in a while… Since I’m saving so much on rent by living at home, I figure my little coffee habit will be okay for now!
