I might be the only person in the world (or at least in 2020) who doesn’t like wearing sweats in public. I know, I know! Honestly, I think I can count how many times I wore sweats to class on one hand… but with spending so much time at home, I thought it was time to try out joggers and style them my way! Dearborn Denim sent me these joggers to try so I wanted to share how to style joggers and still feel confident.
Pair black joggers with a bodysuit then add a denim jacket and platform sneakers
To be honest, I still probably won’t sport full-on athleisure (aside from going to grab coffee or going inside Target in a non-pandemic world) but I love seeing joggers styled for everyday life. When I wear one loose piece, I like to balance it out with another structured pieceāso a bodysuit is perfect. By skipping the usual sweatshirt and going with a cropped tee or a bodysuit, your jogger look will come across as more “My style is straight outta Pinterest” and less “Guess I forgot to set my alarm“. So basically my dream style.
It’s getting cooler in Birmingham (I’m talking temps in the FIFTIES, y’all) so I obviously had to add my mom’s denim jacket to this look. A denim jacket provides the perfect amount of casual style and warmth, perfect for those days that get chilly fast.
Let’s chat workwear uniforms and the career struggle
Joggers are not a part of my office’s dress code, but they might become my personal workwear uniform. I have no idea what I want to do longterm, but I know that writing days at coffee shops are part of my plans. While I’ve been working as a social media manager, I’ve kept freelancingāwriting for Bham Now, copywriting for different sites, and creating content for my blog. I love writing because I know how impactful reading other people’s writing can be, but who knows if I’ll end up writing for a magazine, for social media, or something else!
Honestly, I didn’t realize I would still struggle with my future plans once I’d graduated and gotten my first job… but every single day, I wonder what my future holds and what I want it to hold. If you’re going through the same thing or you’re about to graduate, I hope you know you aren’t alone in these feelings. Maybe I’ll never 100% figure out what I want or maybe I’ll find my dream job next year. No matter what, I can trust that it will all work out exactly as it’s supposed to.
