2021 is already shaping up to be a year that doesn’t match my plans, but luckily I’ve got a planner that’s just as versatile as I’m learning to be. ICYMI, as we started the new year, I decided to leave my job as a social media manager for a local PR firm after just under six months. Let’s spill the details on the perfect planner for college & postgrad women and chat about seasons of life.
A reminder for the women in college, my postgrad career girls, and everyone in-between: everything in life is a season.
My time in this role taught me just how important patience is—and that we all have seasons in life. Whenever I’m stressing out, I turn to my favorite bloggers to see how they’ve dealt with similar situations and always feel comforted. A few years ago, one of my favorite bloggers shared the reminder that everything in life is a season. I’ve kept this reminder in mind throughout my time at this local company, and I know I’ll need the reminder in the future!
I’m incredibly lucky that I’m living at home (rent-free!), and my parents were supportive of me leaving my role to pursue freelancing. While I won’t be making the same income as I adjust, I already feel so much happier and at peace.
This week was my first without clocking into a 40-hour workweek, so I’m slowly adjusting and planning my goals. One of the things helping that adjustment? The perfect planner for postgrad women.
This is the perfect planner for anyone who loves an hourly agenda & to-do list.
Now that I’m fully in charge of my schedule for the foreseeable future, I’m loving this undated productivity planner. They’re currently out of stock, but since they’re undated, you can order one whenever it’s back! I am super picky about my planners and have a list of requirements: I want each day to have its own page with a to-do list and hourly slots. I’ve used the Day Designer in the past but honestly never loved the cover design. If I’m going to be looking at it all day, it should be cute, right?!
After searching, I decided the Papier Daily Productivity Planner would be perfect… and so far, it is. Instead of starting each new month with a monthly calendar, we start with two pages of a weekly layout. The weekly overview includes places to add events, general notes, your top priorities, important to-dos, and a habit tracker.
Each day on the planner includes a place for your schedule, but instead of labeling the times, you can add your own times! This would be the perfect planner for college. Got an hour and a half class or a 15-minute meeting? You can add anything to the planner and break it down as much or as little as you like. To the right of the hourly schedule, you’ll find a spot for your to-do list plus your top three priorities. The bottom of each page includes a spot for notes. I love adding a quote that I saved or a Bible verse that was particularly helpful that day.
My Instagram friend Selena also has the planner, and truly, I would trust her recommendations any day. She went with a similar pink design, but one of the things I love the most about Papier is you can choose whatever cover you want. I ordered “Le Moderne” in pink but am eyeing the Boho Rainbow or Patchwork for my next order. Each planner has four months’ worth of pages. This length is perfect if you want to skip slow weeks or if you’re always changing your mind (guilty as charged).
What should you add to your planner?
I’m a big believer in writing down everything… sometimes so you can check it off, sometimes so you can look back and remember the little moments that made up your day.
If you’re not sure what to add to your planner, here are a few things on my to-do list most days:
- Listen to the Bible in a Year podcast from Ascension Presents
- Write a card or send an encouraging text to a friend
- Make your bed
These are simple things, but truly they make up an important part of my routine.
Let me know—what planner do you swear by?
