Fall fashion is my absolute favorite, but when you live in a state that won’t drop below the 80s until well into October, you have to get creative with your fall fashion. Midi dresses are my all-time favorite for fall, and this Fabletics jersey dress is the perfect transition piece (and on sale for $15 in limited sizes)! Layer with a denim button-down and tennis shoes (I truly love my HOKAs) for a cooler day, or throw a nice jacket and heels on to dress it up. So comfy and easy.
LOVE OF LAYERS
My Pinterest is full of fall outfit ideas with lots of neutrals, and this outfit is the perfect way to bring the fall vibes in without sweating thanks to the layers. A simple white tank, mom jeans and black strappy heels get some texture and warmth from a blazer or cozy cardigan—I grabbed this one at an estate sale. I’m not sure why, but something about pairing strappy heels with the looser jeans and jacket just feels so chic to me!
TRANSITIONAL LBD
Nothing’s better or easier to style than a little black dress. Grabbed this sundress years ago from Target and it’s still one of my favorites to wear throughout the seasons. During this transitional summer-to-fall weather, I love to style it with a sweater tied over my shoulders and heels.
The sweater-over-shoulder trend sometimes makes me feel like a poser LOL but it also feels very preppy and New England to me (someone who’s never been to New England). It’s the perfect feeling for fall. Beyond adding some variety to a classic dress, it’ll make it easy to throw the sweater over the dress when you walk into your office with freezing AC blasting.
SHORT & SWEET
Wearing shorts in September and October goes against my fall fashion dreams, but sometimes it has to be done. When my outfit doesn’t have cool weather silhouettes (like chunky sweaters and pants), I like to swap those for cool weather textures—in this case, denim and corduroy. And as it gets even cooler, I still love styling shorts and skirts with a pair of tights to get the most use of each piece in my closet.
